One of our goals at Ford-Ness-Fassbender
is to educate the public about the science of land surveying.
This will make you an informed consumer and help you make better
decisions about your land surveying and mapping needs.
The FNF Newsletter will offer
a different topic on land surveying each month. All articles
will be archived, so you can refer to them when you need them.
Or feel free to print these pages for your own use.

SIX REASONS
TO HIRE A LAND SURVEYOR
- You've bought new property-or
you already own land-and you need to know where the boundary
lines are for fences, gardens, shrubs, or trees. What may appear
to be your property line is not always correct. Only professional
surveyors can accurately plot boundaries.
- A neighbor has built
a garage or planted shrubs over the
boundary line, and you would like an easement or property line
adjustment to accommodate the encroachment.
- You are developing your
property by creating a partition
or subdivision. You will need professional help in all phases
of development.
- You are finally building
your dream home. But now your architect asks for a topography survey, your contractor
needs the foundation laid out, and your lender requests a foundation
survey. These are not do-it-yourself projects. You will need
professional help.
- You need a driveway or
a road designed and staked for construction.
The construction company doesn't always do this; this may be
a job for a land surveyor.
- Your lender or insurance
agent says you will be required
to carry flood insurance. You ask, What is flood insurance,
and why do I need it? Contact us. We will help you through
the certification process.
